The arrival of the stately if pretentious Ruth's Chris and the consistent peformance of local favorite Pat's have made Del Frisco's onetime position as the city's best steakhouse considerably less than secure. In fact, recent visits here have been vaguely disappointing, with service and style a bit threadbare and the wine list disappointing. But when it comes to Del Frisco's core competency -- deeply marbled, fork-tender prime steaks -- it's still hard to beat on quality points. $$$
