One of Louisville's fanciest and most expensive Chinese restaurants, stylishly strewn across the multiple levels of a former movie theater, The Emperor can stand up to fancy Chinese spots in New York's Chinatown. Outstanding. $$ (The same owners also have ** Empress of China, 2249 Hikes Lane, (502) 451-2500. The menus and food quality are quite similar, but I slightly prefer the Emperor for its exuberant Chinatown style.)
