Danny Mac rocks it in new quarters

Who doesn’t know Danny Mac? If you follow local social media, you’ve surely run into this guy, who’s been selling a lot of pizza and authentic Philly-style cheesesteaks out of a storefront on Clarks Lane.

Danny has virtually organized the Germantown and Schnitzelburg communities online. His Facebook page (click http://on.fb.me/gerschnitz) has fought crime, addressed neighborhood issues and raised serious bucks for neighbors in need.

Last month Danny Mac’s moved to new quarters, forging an unusual partnership with Germantown Amvets Post 9. Now civilians can rub shoulders with the veterans while all enjoy Danny Mac’s dishes and the Amvets’ beverages in the casual, comfortable Post hall, surrounded by a patriotic parade of military regalia and American flags.

A 12-inch, hand-tossed pizza with sausage, green peppers and onions ($10.99) was up to Danny’s standard, piled-high Louisville-style pizza with thin crust, spicy sauce and a thick blanket of molten cheese and tasty toppings. Welcome Danny Mac to his new home, and toss the vets a salute.
